A 130-room Marriott SpringHill Suites hotel going up on Atascadero’s north end is expected to be complete by December.

Utilities and landscaping are complete on the four-story hotel, which is in the framing stage at San Ramon Road and El Camino Real near a Home Depot store.

A pool, Jacuzzi and a bar will be featured in the new space, said to have a wine country-inspired theme. Two additional building pads also being built on the site will bring 18,000 square feet for restaurants, gas stations or retail stores through project developer Costa Mesa-based Westar Associates.

Names of possible tenants were not available. “No leases have been signed, and for confidentiality reasons we can't comment on who has expressed interest,” said Ally Ellison, Westar’s director of media.
