Korean food firms Binggrae, Daesang to join THAIFEX-Anuga Asia 2026
SEOUL, May 22 (UPI) -- South Korean food companies Binggrae and Daesang said Friday they will participate in THAIFEX-Anuga Asia 2026, one of the largest food exhibitions in Asia.
Binggrae said it would operate a promotional booth at the exhibition, which will be held in Bangkok next week. The show will be jointly hosted by Germany-based Koelnmesse and the Thai government.
The Seoul-based company said would meet international buyers and distributors to expand distribution channels across Southeast Asia, including Thailand, Indonesia and Malaysia.
Binggrae tapped into the Thai market in 2007 by selling flagship products like Melona ice cream and banana-flavored milk.
"With the upcoming trade fair serving as a catalyst, we intend to accelerate our expansion in Southeast Asia and strengthen our global business," Binggrae said in a statement.
Binggrae's cross-city rival, Daesang, also plans to participate in the five-day exhibition, which is expected to attract more than 3,300 companies and nearly 90,000 buyers from 140 countries.
Daesang stated that it would showcase its competitiveness through key products such as kimchi, seaweed and sauces.
"We aim to elevate the status of K-food and demonstrate our brand competitiveness to global buyers through the exhibition based on the localization strategies we have built across Southeast Asia," Daesang CEO Lim Jung-bae said in a statement.
The share price of Binggrae edged up 0.27% on the Seoul bourse Friday. Shares of Daesang rose 2.77%.
