New retro-modern gas station, car wash to open off Hwy. 101. Here’s what’s coming

A new retro-modern road stop is coming to Atascadero.

Located at 1860 El Camino Real next to the Home 2 Suites by Hilton, the Coastal Pit Stop will feature a gas and electrical vehicle power station, convenience store and a car wash, owner Peter Singh told The Tribune.

The unique Googie-style architecture will create a futuristic feel involving bold colors, geometric shapes and space-age imagery reminiscent of the mid-1900s Jetson-style buildings.

The gas station will be a 76 fuel brand, Singh said. It will host 12 gasoline pumps and 9 electric vehicle charging stations, according to Atascadero’s Project Directory.

Attached to the fueling station will be a combination Pizza Hut and convenience store, as well as a 70-foot full-service car wash.

Singh owns six other road stops across the state near Madera, Visalia, Patterson, Salinas and Yosemite.

The Coastal Pit Stop is expected to open by September, Singh said.
