Pismo Beach shaved ice and boba shop became a ‘household name.’ Now it’s for sale

A change in ownership awaits a popular shaved ice and boba shop in Pismo Beach.

PCH Shave Ice & Boba was recently listed for sale for $45,000 on Facebook Marketplace by co-owner Diane Cabrera.

The reason the owners are letting the place go? To focus on their newer Filipino restaurant, Lumpia Bros. Cafe.

“We’re a little exhausted,” co-owner Eric Cabrera told The Tribune. “If this was 20 years earlier, I’d be so excited to have 10 businesses. But now that I’m in my 50s, I’m just concentrating on one thing and help that to grow, you know?”

Eric Cabrera said there are plenty of buyers interested in the shop at 893 North Oak Park Blvd., but he has cautioned them to keep the menu if they want to stay afloat.

“They’ll add their character to it, and we’re just going to give them basically what our opinion is, as far as what kept us successful because now we’re like a household name,” he said.

Popular menu items like the Mahalo Halo, Tiger Pismo and shaved ice concoctions will likely remain on the menu, but it really depends on the new owner, Cabrera said.

“The system is already in, the vibe is already going, and if they even keep the same employees, they should have no problem keeping this place successful and maintaining success,” he said.

Meanwhile the Cabreras are looking forward to the grand opening of Lumpia Bros. in February and continuing to grow the restaurant’s offerings with some early morning coffee and a full acai bar.
