Loved SLO’s restaurant week? It’s expanding to a whole month. Here’s how to get a deal
Good news, foodies!
After the success of its previous week-long celebration of local eateries, San Luis Obispo is set to officially celebrate its first-ever Restaurant Month in January.
The event — a “celebration of San Luis Obispo’s diverse and delicious culinary offerings” — will last from Wednesday through Jan. 31, according to a Visit SLO news release.
Throughout the month, diners can enjoy a variety of deals at local restaurants, everything from “prix-fixe menus to happy hour deals and discounted menu items,” the release said.
“We’re thrilled to be launching SLO Restaurant Month, a chance to celebrate local flavors and support our vibrant culinary scene,” Jacqui-Clark Charlesworth, tourism and community promotions manager for the city of SLO, said in the release. “January is typically a slower month for restaurants, so choosing to dine out will help sustain small businesses and strengthen our community — one plate at a time.”
The city also partnered with local broadcaster Adam Montiel to highlight different participating restaurants throughout the month on his podcast Up + Adam.
He also helped some participating establishments craft their special menus, the release said.
“After the success of SLO Restaurant Week last January, I’m excited to support San Luis Obispo’s rich and vibrant culinary scene through SLO Restaurant Month,” Montiel said in the release. “Hats off to the city for celebrating the hardworking restaurant owners and teams behind it all. I can’t wait to dive into these exclusive menus and highlight the incredible flavors that make SLO and its cuisine so unique!”
