What’s opening at new SLO Ranch Farms and Marketplace? Ice cream, a bakery and more
The new marketplace at the San Luis Ranch housing development celebrated the opening of its first tenants Saturday.
According to operations manager Jacob Grossman, SLO Ranch Farms and Marketplace held a soft opening ceremony for the first businesses in the development’s new shopping center from noon to 4 p.m.
Those included the SLO Ranch Market and Pardon My French Bakery, both of which were already open prior to Saturday, and Negranti Creamery, which debuted on Saturday.
The celebration was expected to include a San Luis Obispo Chamber of Commerce ribbon cutting for Negranti Creamery’s fourth scoop shop at 1 p.m. The popular sheep’s milk ice cream company is based out of Paso Robles and was founded by Cal Poly graduate Alexis Negranti in 2010.
Other activities during the celebration included live music, games, drawings and prizes.
According to Grossman, four more businesses will join the lineup at the marketplace by the end of August.
First, Lucy’s Coffee — which moved from its old spot on Laurel Lane this summer — and Tails Pet Boutique will open next weekend, followed by candle company The Mayan Collective and PowerHouse Pilates at the end of the month.
“We are also starting construction on our community gardens and interactive farms this month,” Grossman said. “We currently have pumpkins, corn and flowers planted for a fall pumpkin patch and U-pick.”
