Five popular San Luis Obispo County hotels are officially under new management, after being acquired by a Southern California resort group.

KSL Resorts announced in a news release that it has “taken over the day-to-day management of five independent, boutique hotels” on the Central Coast: Avila Lighthouse Suites in Avila Beach, Pismo Lighthouse Suites and Shore Cliff Hotel in Pismo Beach and Paso Robles Inn and The Piccolo in Paso Robles.

The five hotels were previously operated by Martin Resorts, a local hotel group that was founded by the late Tom Martin in 1999 and has been led by his wife, Noreen Martin since 2005.

“KSL Resorts shares our passion for this region and our continued commitment to this beautiful community and is the very best partner to take these much-loved hotels to even higher levels of excellence,” Martin said in a news release.

Martin is expected to become a member of KSL Resorts’ advisory board following the acquisition. A request for comment from Martin was not returned.

Together, the five properties add 346 rooms to KSL Resorts’ existing management portfolio, which includes the Vespera Resort in Pismo Beach; the international Outrigger hotel chain and the Silverado Resort and Spa in Napa Valley.

“As we continue our strategic growth along the Central Coast of California, building upon our recent success in Pismo Beach, we are thrilled to welcome the Martin Resorts portfolio to KSL Resorts,” CEO Scott Dalecio said in the release. “We look forward to continuing the exceptional level of service and hospitality these hotels are so well known for and stewarding the legacy that Martin Resorts has built over the last 23 years.”

KSL Resorts will focus on “unique programming and activation strategies for each property, leveraging their distinct character and personalities,” according to the release.
