Central Coast is getting its first Guitar Center store — and a grand opening is planned

Good news for those who have dreams of starting a band or just enjoy playing songs around the campfire: The country’s largest musical instrument retailer chain is opening its first store on the Central Coast this week.

On Thursday, June 23, Guitar Center will celebrate the grand opening of its Santa Maria store, featuring a variety of musical events, deals and surprises throughout the day and weekend.

The store, located at the Enos Grand West development at 443 East Betteravia Road, will open for the first time at 10 a.m. on Thursday for customers eager to try out new instruments, enjoy music-themed events and cash in on a variety of promotions.

Guitar Center’s opening day will feature a live DJ performance and a free group music lesson from 10-11 a.m. for those who RSVP at its website.

As part of the celebrations, the store will have some “doorbuster deals” for those who come to buy its services and products, according to Guitar Center’s website. Among the best? The lucky first 100 people who sign up in-store for their first month of music lessons will receive a free guitar.

All through the weekend, customers will also receive 10% off their first qualifying purchase, a free upgrade to a platinum setup if they purchase a signature setup, 20% off any rental package and free registration for music lessons — which also have a buy-three-get-one-free promotion.

Guitar Center is the largest retailer chain of musical instruments in the country, and has, according to its website, “helped others find their sound” for over 50 years.

The store offers everything the musically inclined could possibly dream of: from music lessons at a wide range of prices to a wide selection of latest models, vintage or even used guitars, drums and keyboards. It also offers rentals and repairs, as well as amplifiers and DJ and recording equipment.

Previously, the closest Guitar Center store was in Oxnard.
