South County drivers have a new place to go to get their cars repaired — though the shop name itself might be familiar.

Rizzoli’s Automotive, a longtime San Luis Obispo County car repair shop, has opened its newest location at Grand Avenue in Grover Beach.

It is the third location for the Central Coast chain, with shops in both San Luis Obispo and Santa Maria.

The first shop opened in San Luis Obispo in 1976. At that time, co-founder Mario Rizzoli “had a vision to provide expert car care and exceptional customer service,” according to a news release.

“Since 1976 our family, with deep roots in the community, have been dedicated to giving back to our communities by implementing values of honesty, integrity and empathy for others and a strong work ethic,” CEO Kyle Rizzoli said in the release. “We don’t do that for recognition or for awards, but we carry that tradition forward. It’s a part of who we are.”

Rizzoli added that expanding to Grover Beach would allow the company “to continue in our commitment to our local communities.”

The Grover Beach shop was formerly home to Central Coast Custom, which owner Gary Cooper recently sold to Rizzoli’s, according to the release.

“‘We shared a passion for quality auto repair, importance for detail, honesty and integrity,” Cooper said in the release. “It was very important to me to leave my loyal customers in the hands of someone who would care for them the way I would.”

The new shop is located at 702 W. Grand Avenue, open from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. Monday through Friday.
