There’s a new all-you-can-eat buffet in town.

Golden Corral, one of the chains that popularized the buffet-style comfort food restaurant, has opened a new location in Santa Maria.

The restaurant opened for takeout and dine-in at The Crossroads at Santa Maria shopping center off Highway 101 on April 12, according to a company Facebook post.

Golden Corral was founded in Fayetteville, North Carolina, in 1973. It currently has locations across 42 states.

The Santa Maria location is the only Golden Corral in San Luis Obispo and Santa Barbara counties. The next closest Golden Corral eateries are in Oxnard and Bakersfield.

The Santa Maria restaurant is open Monday through Friday, 11 a.m. to 9 p.m. and from 8 a.m. to 9 p.m. on Saturday and Sunday.
