Meathead Movers is hiring for 125 positions — in SLO County and across California
Meathead Movers is hiring for 125 new jobs, including 25 in San Luis Obispo County.
The business, which has offices in SLO, Oxnard, Santa Ana (Orange County), Bakersfield and Fresno, is offering $200 signing bonuses to new employees. The company needs to fill mover and packer roles.
Meathead typically offers starting pay of $15 per hour plus tips, and an additional $2 per hour for hazard pay.
“As we continue to see an overwhelming demand for our moving services amidst these crazy times, we need to hire at least 125 employees across Central and Southern California to keep up with the need,” said Dawn Ventura, director of communications.
Ventura said that the company is looking to make the hires as soon as possible, saying the “demand is there to move right now.”
As part of its safety protocol amid COVID-19, all trucks are wiped down inside and outside before and after every move; employees are required to sanitize hands before entering a Meathead vehicle or building, and before and after all moves; and dispatch times are strategically staggered to avoid overlap of team members in the warehouses, among other safety measures.
“We recommend that all Meatheads wear gloves on all moving and packing services and dispose of them promptly after,” Ventura said. “All Meathead team members are required to wear cloth face coverings at all times, unless specifically exempt.”
The company was founded on the mission of hiring student athletes, but Meathead also hires former student athletes and those generally committed to working in the moving industry.
