California Mid-State Fair board fires CEO — but they won’t say why

The board that governs the California Mid-State Fair voted on Wednesday to fire the event’s four-year CEO.

The 16th District Agricultural Association board opted to “separate from” Michael Bradley, according to a Mid-State Fair news release.

Bradley had overseen the fair and the Paso Robles Event Center since May 2016. The board didn’t provide any reason for the separation.

Colleen Bojorquez, business assistant, was named interim CEO effective immediately, the release says.

“The entire board would like to thank Michael Bradley for his numerous contributions and dedicated work in leading and producing previous California Mid-State Fairs, and we wish him the best in the future,” said David Baldwin, board president, in a statement.

In spite of the ongoing coronavirus pandemic, the board currently plans to hold the Mid-State Fair as planned from July 22 to Aug. 2, the release says.
