Verdin accepts nominations for third annual 24-Hour Give
Verdin, a San Luis Obispo-based marketing firm, is accepting nominations for the nonprofit that will benefit from this year’s 24-Hour Give — a free total rebrand done in 24 hours. Now in its third year, the agency’s rebrand includes a new logo, marketing plan and advertising campaign.
Verdin works with community partners during the project whose contributions range from meals and activities during the 24 hours of website and video production.
The combined estimated value of donated time, products and services from Verdin and partners is more than $80,000, according to a company news release.
“Some organizations do incredibly important work in our community, but no one knows about them because they don’t have the resources to get that visibility,” noted Verdin President Mary Verdin in an email to The Tribune. “As an agency, that’s something we can contribute, and the 24-Hour Give is our fun, exciting and collaborative way of doing that. Each year, it warms our hearts to see so many community partners and sponsors jump in to help us provide something truly amazing for an organization that deserves it.”
The marketing firm will select two finalists from the nominated organizations; the public will determine the winner between Oct. 10 and 24.
To select the finalists, the firm uses a matrix preconstructed with set categories to ensure that the organization chosen provides a needed and unique service in San Luis Obispo County, has viability for making a real difference in the community and would benefit from the free rebrand.
The 24-Hour Give will begin at 8 a.m. Nov. 10 and conclude with a reveal to the “client” at 8 a.m. Nov. 11.
Nominations of nonprofits can be submitted online at www.verdinmarketing.com/nominate, or forms can be picked up at the firm’s office at 3580 Sacramento Drive, Number 110 in San Luis Obispo. All nominations must be submitted by Sept. 23.
The theme of this year’s event is “The Time Machine,” inspired by H.G. Wells’ science fiction novel.
Literacy for Life was the selected nonprofit for the 2015 24-Hour Give, and Op C.O.Y. (Operation Coaching Our Youth) was the 2014 nonprofit selected.
