Napa street closures, extended bus service hours set for BottleRock Napa Valley 2026

BottleRock Napa Valley returns Memorial Day weekend, packing the Napa Valley Expo grounds with thousands of music and food lovers over the festival's three-day run.

For one weekend, Napa's population is expected to grow by more than half - estimates put daily festival attendance at 45,000 in a town of about 76,000 - as BottleRock takes over the Expo at 575 Third St. from 11:30 a.m. to 10 p.m. May 22-24. Festivalgoers come by car, bus, train and bike - here's what everyone needs to know to navigate Napa during its busiest weekend of the year:

Road closures

The city of Napa has announced daytime and nighttime closures - some partial, others full - that will affect major routes in and around the Napa Valley Expo. A mix of "soft" and "hard" closures will be in place from 8 a.m. to 11 p.m. daily:

Soft closures limiting access to residents and their guests from 8 a.m. to 11 p.m. include:

* Juarez Street between Third and First streets

* Burnell Street between Third and Eighth streets

* Sixth, Seventh and Eighth between Burnell and Soscol Avenue

* Fourth Street between Burnell and Bailey streets

* Bailey Street

* Fourth between Lawrence and Burnell streets

* Lawrence between Third and Fourth streets

Hard closures that will fully close roads to traffic, except for emergency vehicles, from 8 p.m. to 11 p.m. include:

* Third Street between Silverado Trail and Soscol Avenue

* Third Street between Soscol Avenue and Coombs Street

* Main and Brown streets between Third and Second streets

* Burnell between Third and Eighth streets

* Eighth, Seventh and Sixth streets between Soscol and Burnell Street

* Juarez between the Expo property line and First Street

Transit

BottleRock has partnered with the Napa Valley Transportation Authority to offer free Vine Transit rides and extended, late-night service all weekend - including regional express service to BART for people to get to and from the festival. Route information is available at VineTransit.com.

"Ride-share prices after the festival can be extremely high," NVTA spokesperson Emily Charrier said. "Last year, trips within Napa sometimes cost around $200, and fares to Calistoga approached $400."

No bus passes are needed for service available from the UpValley area, American Canyon, San Francisco or Fairfield. Limited free parking, including EV chargers, are available at the Redwood Park and Ride and Imola Park and Ride. There are also Park and Rides in American Canyon and Yountville.

BART users can connect to Vine Transit via the El Cerrito del Norte station and Vallejo Ferry Terminal and Amtrak users can connect via the Suisun City Train Depot.

The Soscol Gateway Transit Center at 625 Burnell St., which is a two-minute walk to the concert grounds, is the closest stop for festivalgoers. Buses will depart for return trips as they fill up. Departing buses will be lined up on Burnell Street at Sixth Street, one block south of the Transit Center. After the shows, exit the Expo onto Burnell Street and head left. Riders should check routes before boarding.

"We ask people to be patient. Buses do not leave at exact scheduled times after the festival. Departures depend on when buses fill up and when roads are cleared for traffic," Charrier said. In 2025, she said, the first round of buses departed within 15 minutes of the festival's end.

Many of the drivers speak Spanish, Charrier noted, and a bilingual outreach coordinator will be on-site to assist Spanish-speaking riders.

Marisa Garcia Torres, who lives in Calistoga, said she has used the bus service to go to BottleRock for the last several years.

"I've always had a great experience. … I safely got there to the festival, and got back home to Calistoga. And employees from the Vine are super helpful in guiding people to which bus they need to get on. And if the bus gets full, there's another one coming up minutes away," she said.

BottleRock also offers its own bus service from Fairfield, Mill Valley, Oakland, Petaluma, Sacramento, San Francisco, Sonoma, Santa Rosa, Vacaville and Walnut Creek/680 Corridor. Tickets information is available on the festival website.

Driving, ride-sharing and parking

Road warriors should plan extra time and have their parking passes ready before they get to the Expo, organizers say.

Parking lots will open at 10 a.m. and close at 11:59 p.m. daily. Buy general parking in advance at the festival website to guarantee a spot. The website will let you choose a parking lot and will tell you how many minutes it will take to walk to the festival.

Overnight parking and RV parking are not allowed. Accessible parking is available for those with a valid placard and pre-purchased ADA parking pass. Spaces are first come, first served and will be verified by Napa police.

Festivalgoers with disabilities can be dropped off at the accessible loading and unloading zone located at First and Juarez streets. Drivers must present a valid handicap placard or plates to drop off guests in this zone.

Drop-off and pickup for ride-sharing options such as Uber and Lyft, as well as taxis, is allowed only at Third and Randolph streets. From there, the main gates and the accessible entry lane are less than a half-mile from the rideshare lot and are accessed via city streets and sidewalks.

Emission-free

BottleRock promoters say the festival is committed to sustainability and note that more than 1,000 bicycles are parked at the Expo each year.

The festival provides complimentary bicycle parking a short distance from the venue at 301 First St. Riders are encouraged to bring their own bike locks. Bicycle parking is open from 11 a.m. to 11 p.m. throughout the festival.

Forget your headlamp? Festival organizers have you covered, according to Executive Director Kara Vernor: "If someone does not have a light, we offer them one for free to help them get home safe."
