Cabins tucked away at quiet places in nature make for popular listings on vacation rental company Airbnb, including this hideaway in Kansas.

Airbnb revealed the most wishlisted home across all 50 states, highlighted by camera-shaped cabins, rustic western saloons, remodeled silos, treehouses and steelhouse sculptures. In a 2026 online Airbnb survey featuring 2,000 participants, 86% said they’re interested in visiting remote or rural destinations.

The listing for Kansas is only 40 minutes west of Kansas City and checks the box for a rural destination.

“A cozy, quiet escape on a serene, wooded retreat property, this cabin offers scenic trails, peaceful meditation spaces, and stunning sunset views over the valley, perfect for unplugging and recharging in nature,” Airbnb said in a statement. “This stay is putting Kansas on the map for travelers looking for something a little different this spring and summer.”

The 15-acre property is a mostly wooded retreat with hiking trails, including a labyrinth. Two ponds where guests can catch and release fish are surrounded by meditation areas and hammocks. Guests can also enjoy an axe-throwing area, a fire pit and a horseshoe pit.

The listing says the cabin is more suitable for two adults and two children, and host Janna said on the listing that she wouldn’t recommend four adults as it would be too tight. There is only one queen-sized bed, and the listing says it has a floor mattress in the bedroom and living room, but it doesn’t say what size.

The cabin shares the property with Sacred Hearts Healing Center, which is also owned by Janna. Dates are available around the time the 2026 FIFA World Cup group and knockout stage games begin in Kansas City.
