Charlie the enthusiastic German shepherd mix is eager to please. He needs a forever home
There are some dogs who especially tug at your heart. Charlie is one of those dogs.
Less than 2 years old, he’s a German shepherd mix who is still puppy-like.
Charlie is curious, trusting, enthusiastic and wants to please. He’s simply gobsmacked by all the possibilities each moment contains.
Charlie has classic German shepherd good looks, though he is smaller in size. He has a short, low-maintenance coat.
Sadly, Charlie has been at the San Luis Obispo County Animal Services shelter since Halloween.
He may be part of the ever-growing number of young dogs who are turning up at county animal shelters because their owners — now working away from home — no longer have time for furry family members.
Charlie is perfect for the dog-lover who knows obedience and trick training are fun ways to build a deep and loving relationship with dogs.
They also give canines the confidence they need to become their best selves, because you showed them the way.
Charlie enjoys chasing balls and is beginning to learn his basic obedience.
Because he’s food motivated and looks to you for guidance, he’s eager to learn and is ready to find a home where he can become your best canine buddy.

Charlie believes in the goodness of people and, like all shelter dogs, just needs someone to show him the way home.
