Angel the terrier is one happy dog — and she’s looking for a forever home
There’s nothing as happy as a dog’s tail and by any measure, Angel is one happy dog.
Angel forgets bad things, and remembers only the good. She embraces the present — believing every treat will be tasty and all humans are lovable.
When Angel arrived at the San Luis Obispo County Animal Services shelter as a stray, we could only guess at her past. Her condition indicated she’d had many litters of puppies and, judging from the large masses on her legs, her owners hadn’t provided her with appropriate medical care.
Thankfully, due to donations to the shelter’s Animals Requesting Friends fund, Angel’s noncancerous tumors were removed. She’s feeling great and is ready for a home.
Angel has a low-slung, stocky build that, when coupled with her blue-gray coat, makes her look a bit like a furry miniature hippopotamus. However, shelter staff believe she’s a 9-year-old Staffordshire terrier.
Angel would be an ideal pet for someone looking for a loving companion with low exercise needs. She enjoys walks, but would also be fine as a house dog with access to a yard.
When out on walks with other dogs, she’s basically uninterested, as if she has nothing in common with them. Cats, on the other hand, she’d like to chase.
Angel would prefer to get all the human love and be an only pet.
Angel’s happiness is contagious. Her “Isn’t life grand?” smile and waddling walk just lifts your spirits. Angel’s an oversized lapdog who’s ready to share joy, cuddles and kisses with you.
