Paso Robles Municipal Airport

There’s no scheduled passenger service, but the airport — four miles northeast of downtown Paso Robles off Airport Road — provides easy access to the surrounding wine region for private and corporate planes and charter flights.

The airport’s runways — one of them 6,000 feet long -- are used by the California Department of Forestry to fight wildfires, the California Highway Patrol’s air operations, courier services and cargo haulers. It’s also home to hot air ballooning and flight instruction.

Hangars are individually owned and rented; check for availability in the terminal.

Oceano Airport

This small, beach-side airport off Highway 1 is used mostly by recreational pilots. It’s also a popular place for biplane rides.

There are fuel and camping facilities on the field. Tie downs and private hangars are available. The 2,325-foot runway operates under visual flight rules, since there is no control tower.

The airport is open 24 hours daily, and the runway is limited at night. Office hours are 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. daily, except Tuesdays.
