Wine lovers sip, socialize at newly revived Paso Wine Fest

Wine lovers socialized, sampled food and sipped glasses of syrah, chardonnay and more from 100 wineries on Saturday during the Paso Wine Fest this weekend.

Organized by the Paso Robles Wine Country Alliance, the four-day festival held its popular Grand Tasting event at the Paso Robles Event Center, home to the California Mid-State Fair.

In a news release, organizers touted the Paso Wine Fest, formerly known as the Paso Robles Wine Festival, as a “brand-new event, with a new name, new venue and new experiences.”

The festival was canceled in 2020 and 2021 due to the coronavirus pandemic.

Highlights of the 2022 version, which kicked off Thursday, included winemaker dinners, a salute to sparkling wines and a cabernet-focused seminar.

On Sunday, wineries were scheduled to “host individual events throughout Paso Robles wine country,” the release said.
