Having a crappy time at home? SLO Brew has a April Fools’ Day offer

Amid concerns about coronavirus and a statewide shelter-at-home order, SLO Brew clearly hasn’t lost its sense of humor.

The San Luis Obispo-based brewery joked via Instagram on Wednesday that it will be selling “SLO Brew Premium Canned Toilet Paper” for $19.99, garnering a lot of social media attention.

“In 2018, we canned fresh emergency water to aid in the Santa Barbara Mudslide relief effort,” the brewery said in its April Fools’ Day Instagram post. “With the current crisis affecting our community and everyone across the globe, SLO Brew has made some rapid modifications to our canning line to provide yet another essential supply.”

Each 16-ounce can contains “one full roll of premium double-ply toilet paper packed for convenience,” the post reads, but but customers are limited to 10 cans each.

“Whether you are hunkered down at home or on the go, you can always have a supply on hand,” the Instagram post reads.

Bathroom tissue and other household goods have been in short supply at local stores during the COVID-19 pandemic.

SLO Brew may be joking about canning bathroom tissue, but the brewery is offering a 10% off coupon with the code “TP10” for April Fools’ Day.

While SLO Brew’s physical locations have closed, SLO Brew Rock is offering curbside pickup or takeout for online hours. The brewery currently offers a “Cabin Fever Special” that includes a family meal, a case of beer or bottle of whiskey, and a roll of toilet paper.
