Treat your mom to brunch with these SLO County restaurant takeout specials
Mothers and their loved ones would normally head San Luis Obispo County restaurants this Sunday for Mother’s Day — but with shelter-at-home orders still in place, local restaurants are getting creative to help with your celebration.
From Paso Robles to Nipomo, restaurants across the Central Coast are offering special brunch and dinner deals for curbside pickup at their establishments.
Just order ahead, pick up your mail and bring it home to mom. It’s easy as her apple pie recipe.

Big Sky Cafe

The restaurant is also selling specific bottles of wine for $20, plus a bouquet of Gerber daisies for the first 50 orders.

Deal: Brunch in Paso Robles is offering several special items for Mother’s Day brunch, including a maple bacon French toast; bourbon pulled pork benedict, a veggie frittata pan and several types of breakfast burritos. The restaurant is also selling a bouquet of flowers for $22, an assorted dessert box for $35 and a bottle of sparkling rosé for $24.
Entrees range from $9.95 to $22.
The items can be picked up or delivered to your home. Orders should be placed online by Friday at 6 p.m.

Deal: Hurricane Kitchen out of Paso Robles is selling both brunch and dinner specials for pickup. The brunch menu, which feeds four people, includes salmon and wild mushroom quiche with fresh dill, Parmesan potatoes, strawberry salad and a balsamic vinaigrette; crab and maple bacon cakes with country-style rice, spinach and bleu cheese salad; and buttery scrambled eggs and hash with chorizo hash, strawberry salad and balsamic vinaigrette.
The Mother’s Day dinner, which also feeds four people, includes grilled salmon or chicken picatta with a creamy artichoke and caper sauce, country style rice and parmesan potatoes; and hickory smoked pork ribs with Jack Daniels barbecue sauce, country style rice, balsamic roasted corn and bacon salad.
The brunch menu can be picked up Saturday, and reheated to serve on Sunday. Pickups are at the Seven Oxen tasting room from noon to 4 p.m. on Saturday. Brunch orders should be placed by Friday at 5 p.m.
The dinner menu should be ordered by 5 p.m. on Saturday, and can be picked up between 2 p.m. and 5 p.m. Sunday.

The meals can feed between four and eight people, and cost $150. For an additional $25, you can get both potato gratin and mac and cheese; for $20 you can add a baby green salad or Caesar salad.

The second special is a Mother’s Day dinner for $90, which includes a choice of slow roasted prime rib, herb crusted New Zealand lamb, scampi style prawns or Atlantic salmon filet. Deal: Thomas Hill Organics is selling a Mother’s Day family dinner special that includes a butter lettuce salad with seasonal berries, broken goat cheese crumble, puffed grains, edible flower petals and toasted hazelnut vinaigrette; citrus and pink peppercorn-glazed salmon with pickled fennel mint salsa; quinoa with herbs, kumquats and kale pesto; and summer squash roasted in olive oil and finished with smoked sea salt.
The price for two servings is $42, three for $60, and four for $78. You can also add an olive oil cake that feeds four people for $24.

Deal: Willow Family Restaurants, which include its restaurants in Pismo Beach, Nipomo and Morro Bay, will offer a special Mother’s Day brunch Saturday and Sunday. The meal comes with bacon and cheese quiche, strawberries and cream, smoked salmon, seafood cocktail and a cheese and meat plate.
A family brunch costs $99; you can add a mimosa or bloody mary kit for $19.
The restaurants are also offering special family dinners of rosemary and fennel roasted pork, with side salad, broccoli and cauliflower slaw, mashed potatoes, baked penne and tiramisu for dessert.
The company will also donate special family meals and dinners to families who are unemployed because of the coronavirus crisis.
