When multiple dogs get together, you can expect a bunch of nonsensical hilarity to ensue at some point. Pack mentality is in their DNA, and it can make them competitive when it matters most. That's exactly what happened when three rescue dogs spotted a human and decided to turn the moment into a game of wits and athleticism, all in the hope of snagging the prize: belly scratches!

Even in such a short clip, you can tell who the boss is, and her name is Baby Pancake. Known around the web as a doggy mob boss, the one who pays the bills and makes all the rules, and Queen of Sass, Pancake isn't about to give up her chance of getting the first belly rubs. Thor and Gigi gave it their best shot, but never underestimate the stumpy little ball of Bulldog spice who somehow conjures extra energy during do-or-die time!

On any other day, you'll find Pancake doing the absolute most with her doggy friend guests because she has zero chill. This is where the internet comes in clutch because Pancake's mom isn't about to record her funniest antics and *not* share with us all.

Here's the Bulldog's top 5 most awkward social interactions, which will give you a little more insight about that sporadic game of agility for scratches! I think this is why the funny pup has so many fans!

Why Do Dogs Engage in Random Bursts of Activity?

Also known as "zoomies," Pancake and her friends getting all amped-up over the possibility of belly scratches is technically called frenetic random activity periods (FRAPS). It happens when these entertaining pups need to release pent-up energy, to relax when suddenly stressed, or to show how excited they are.

Though zoomies are most common with puppies, older canines get the zoomies, too! Whether it's after a bath or when they spot their favorite human returning home, they're fun to watch. And if you have some version of Pancake at home, happy to see you, give that baby all the belly scratches!
