Breaking Down the Biggest Snubs From the 2026 Emmy Nominations
The 2026 Emmy nominations are here, and not everyone in Hollywood has made the final list.
The Bear's Liza Colón-Zayas and Somebody Somewhere actor Jeff Hiller woke up bright and early on Wednesday, July 8, to unveil the complete list of nominees from the Wolf Theatre at the Television Academy's Saban Media Center in Los Angeles.
On the drama side, Noah Wyle's The Pitt earned the top spot with 25 nominations total. As for comedies, Jean Smart's Hacks made history by receiving the most nominations for a comedy's final season with 24 nods.
While it's not a shock to see both shows receive recognition, there were some programs that received some unexpected nods.
Following Amanda Batula and West Wilson's love triangle, the Summer House cast received their first nomination for Outstanding Unstructured Reality Program.
Dancing With the Stars also made its long-awaited return to the Outstanding Reality Competition Program category for the first time in a decade.
As Hollywood stars celebrate their well-deserved nominations, Us Weekly is also highlighting a few actors and shows that need a bit more love from Emmy voters.
Keep reading to see who was snubbed and make sure to watch Mariska Hargitay host the ceremony on NBC Monday, September 14, at 8 p.m. ET.
Taylor Sheridan
Despite continuing to have huge success on projects like Landman and The Madison, Sheridan's shows were shut out of any top nominations.
"If you have a disagreement over someone's way or vibe or whatever it is, that's not the point," Landman star Billy Bob Thorntonpreviously told Usat the Newport Beach TV Fest when supporting Sheridan's work. "The point is, is he good? He writes great stuff. He's created quite an empire, and you have to respect him for that. He has the fame, he has the success, he deserves to be recognized for [his] work in shows."
‘The Amazing Race'
During season 51 of Saturday Night Live, comedy fans couldn't help but fall in love with Padilla's unforgettable sketches and talents.
Whether participating in the NBC show's long-running "Shop TV" sketches, passing notes with host Ryan Gosling or bringing the heat in the "Two People Who Just Hooked Up" Weekend Update segment, Padilla brought the laughs. Now, it's time to put some respect on her name.
Jeremy Allen White
After White won the Emmy in 2023 and 2024 for Outstanding Lead Actor in a Comedy Series, many fans were convinced The Bear star known as Chef Carmy Berzatto would heat up the category with another nod.
Ultimately, it was his costar Ayo Edebiri who received some love in the Lead Actress in a Comedy Series category.
‘Stranger Things'
After airing its final season, fans were hoping the cast and crew would receive plenty of love at the annual awards show. Unfortunately, it was left out of Best Drama and acting categories leaving the grown-up kid actors empty handed.
Adewale Akinnuoye-Agbaje
While Euphoria fans are thrilled to see Zendaya nominated for Lead Actress in a Drama Series, it's hard to ignore all of the talented actors who made the HBO series such a smash up until its final episode.
Akinnuoye-Agbaje wowed audiences by portraying the ruthless drug-dealing kingpin and modern-day cowboy known as Alamo Brown. Hats off to the actor who made this season unforgettable.
