Cal Poly grad is looking for love on Netflix’s ‘Too Hot to Handle.’ Meet Creed McKinnon
Another Cal Poly graduate is heating up the screen on a reality dating show.
Perth, Australia, native Creed McKinnon, 24, is among the contestants on the fourth season of Netflix’s “Too Hot to Handle.”
The scintillating series brings together “10 super hot and horny singletons” at a tropical location — the Caribbean in the case of the current season — and encourages them to prioritize connecting emotionally than physically.
Contestants start the show with a shared pot totaling $200,000. Every time a contestant connects physically with another contestant, money is deducted from the pot.
For example, a kiss costs $3,000 while a two-person shower in the nude loses contestants $6,000.
The first five episodes of “Too Hot to Handle” debuted on Netflix on Dec. 7, with the final five episodes dropping Wednesday.
Netflix reality TV contestant played soccer at Cal Poly
McKinnon, who boasts of having “Aussie flair with Prince Charming hair,” was born in Australia and moved to South Africa when he was 14, he said via Instagram.
McKinnon went to a small community college in northern Idaho before transferring to Cal Poly to play soccer in 2019. That’s where, he said, he “developed the most.”
He was a midfielder on the men’s soccer team in 2019, playing in a total of five matches.
McKinnon graduated in June 2021 with a degree in business administration, the San Luis Obispo university said.
Since then, he’s been at work “starting a business, building my personal brand to create content for brands across the globe and working as a website developer, all while having an amazing social life and traveling the world,” McKinnon said on Instagram. “Not a second was wasted.”
McKinnon co-founded VersaWare, a mindful eating technology that uses artificial intelligence to create recipes and meal plans tailored to the user’s health goals, according to the company website.
According to his bio on Netflix’s website, McKinnon “is used to having all eyes on him when he walks into a room, and expects no less at the retreat.”
“He frequently DMs, dates and ditches a plethora of women without consequence,” his bio said.
In his introduction on “Too Hot to Handle,” McKinnon said, “I can’t really live without female company,” adding that he has more girl friends than guy friends.
When asked what he wants out of his time on the reality show, he said, he’s looking for a “damn good time.”
McKinnon isn’t the first Cal Poly alumnus to look for love on reality television.
Zach Shallcross, a Cal Poly football player who graduated from the university in 2019, appeared on the 19th season of ABC’s “The Bachelorette.”
He’s since been cast as the lead of season 27 of “The Bachelor,” which premieres Jan. 23.
