‘Daily Show’ host Trevor Noah back with a second SLO County comedy show
“Daily Show” host Trevor Noah is returning to Paso Robles for a stand-up comedy show this summer
The South African comedian is slated to take the stage July 13, 2018, at Vina Robles Amphitheatre, roughly a year after his sold-out performance there. New York comic Angelo Lozada will open the show.
Noah took over the reins of Comedy Central’s “The Daily Show” from Jon Stewart in September 2015. His show, which saw a significant boost in viewership in 2017, has surpassed “The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon” as the top late-night talk show among millenials under 25.
The Emmy Award winner has supplemented that success with a best-selling memoir, “Born a Crime: Stories from a South African Childhood,” and a handful of standup specials including “Trevor Noah: Afraid of the Dark.”
“Good satire ... is a tool to really probe at what is happening around you in regards to those in power,” Noah told The Tribune in June. “Essentially that’s what great comedy is. It’s finding a way to call out the B.S.”
Tickets for Noah’s July 2018 show cost $49.50 to $65, and go on sale at 10 a.m. Friday via Ticketmaster.
