Quesadilla and burrito spot to open a new SLO County location

A popular quesadilla spot is opening a new location in San Luis Obispo County, after many requests from its customers.

After opening a year ago at 773 Foothill Blvd. in San Luis Obispo, Press Quesadilla Grill is expanding to Arroyo Grande and beyond.

The restaurant is set to open in the Five Cities Center next to Trader Joe’s where Baja Fresh previously was located.

“Our guests have been incredibly kind. We’ve been getting great reviews,” CEO of Heritage Restaurant Brands Greg Graber told The Tribune. “This just keeps getting better and better and better, and now we want to share Press Quesadilla Grill to the Five Cities.”

Heritage Restaurant Brands are the franchisers of Press Quesadilla Grill and also own 35 Huckleberry’s locations, six Perko’s Cafe Grills and the one Press location in SLO.

The main reason why the restaurant group is opening another location for the pressed quesadillas? Graber said it was all for the customers.

“We have had so many people asking for it,” he said. “It just seemed like a natural extension. It allows us to really improve on our operational capabilities and abilities.”

The new spot will have 50 to 55 seats, a larger location than its predecessor in SLO. Beyond the layout, the spot in the Five Cities Center will have the same menu as the original Press Quesadilla Grill, Graber said.

The first Press Quesadilla Grill location on Foothill Boulevard in San Luis Obispo has about 30 seats for customers, while its new location in Arroyo Grande will have a capacity of 50 to 55.

Build-your-own quesadillas, burritos and bowls are the top hits from the restaurant’s menu. Fan favorites include the queso blanco. People “absolutely love it,” Graber said.

“We get so many comments on the fresh-pressed tortillas. The proteins are amazing,” he said. “We really are going for quality on the plate.”

The Press Quesadilla Grill spot in Arroyo Grande won’t be the only new location. More are set to pop up in 2026 in San Diego, Orange County and Phoenix, according to Graber.

“We chose SLO County and San Luis Obispo because it’s home to us … to be able to open it up and share something that’s reminiscent of the Central Coast. … I expect we will open somewhere between three and six Press Quesadilla Grills in the next year,” he said.
