This is the best Thai restaurant in SLO County, according to reader poll
A small Pismo Beach spot serves up the best Thai food in San Luis Obispo County, according to Tribune readers.
Thai Talay dominated the Tribune’s poll ranking the top Thai restaurants in SLO County, amassing 34% of the vote.
Other top eateries included Thai Villa Nipomo, which got about 20% of the vote, and Noi’s 2nd Street Cafe, which garnered 14%.
Located at 601 Price Street in Pismo Beach, Thai Talay features great customer service and a large menu loaded with authentic Asian comfort food, according to review site Yelp.com.
Popular dishes include cashew nut crispy pork, pumpkin curry, fresh spring rolls and pineapple fried rice.
Yelp user Wendy P. of Lompoc loved the pad thai, calling it “Simply delicious,” while Michelle F. of San Diego raved about a different dish in her Yelp review.
“I wish I could have the glass noodle soup every day!” she said. “It was delicious, refreshing and soul filling. (It’s) very much comfort food!”
“(The) food is outstanding,” Yelp user Meg H. of Lancaster said, praising the “very cozy atmosphere” and “friendly staff.” “I can’t say enough good stuff about it. Do yourself a favor and try this place.”
