McLintocks’ alcohol license was suspended after employees assaulted a patron, state says
F. McLintocks Saloon and Dining House in downtown San Luis Obispo can’t sell alcohol for a month after the California Department of Alcoholic Beverage Control suspended its license.
According to a sign posted in the window of the Higuera Street bar and restaurant on Friday, the suspension is in place from Jan. 19 to Feb. 17.
Bryce Avalos, an ABC communications analyst, told The Tribune that the McLintocks license was suspended for “multiple violations, including operating a disorderly house.”
“The suspension was the outcome of a joint investigation involving ABC’s San Luis Obispo district office and the San Luis Obispo Police Department,” Avalos said on Friday. “In October 2021, employees assaulted a patron resulting in serious bodily injury. After the assault, multiple employees committed additional violations including purposefully obstructing officers with their investigation and preventing the apprehension of suspects.”
According to the ABC’s website, the business has previously been disciplined for allowing after-hours drinking on the premises, though the circumstances of that were unclear.
Requests for comment from McLintocks representatives were not immediately returned Friday afternoon.
