A popular sandwich shop chain is opening its second location in San Luis Obispo County — this time north of the Cuesta Grade.
Ike’s Love & Sandwiches is planning to open at 1121 Rossi Road in Templeton, a news release said.
That spot was previously home to Mr. Pickle’s Sandwich Shop, which Google Maps lists as permanently closed.
Ike’s Love & Sandwiches is known for its creative, locally-themed sandwiches and its Dirty Secret Sauce.
The Bay Area-based chain, which now has more than 70 restaurants across the United States, opened its first San Luis Obispo County location in downtown San Luis Obispo in March 2019.
“The iconic sandwich shop opens with exclusive sandwiches only available at the Templeton location,” the release said. “First up is Screaming Eagle, a chicken-fried steak sandwich with BBQ sauce, ranch and pepper jack cheese; T-Bones TMA, a turkey sandwich stuffed with mozzarella sticks and avocado, and Brand Walsh, made with steak, garlicky tomato pesto and provolone.”
The first 50 people in line at the store’s June 11 grand opening will receive free sandwiches, be entered into a raffle to win free sandwiches for a year and get Ike’s Templeton T-shirts.
