Bring on the ham: These SLO County restaurants are offering take-out Easter dinners

With Easter coming up this weekend, many San Luis Obispo County residents might be looking for ways to celebrate the holiday while still adhering to the shelter-at-home restrictions brought on by the coronavirus pandemic.

One way local businesses are hoping you might celebrate is by picking up a meal from a San Luis Obispo County restaurant to share with your family.

Numerous local restaurants are offering special Easter Sunday deals for meal pickups across the Central Coast, so you can still have a special dinner with whoever you are sheltering at home with.

Here are some of those offering deals:

The Hatch Rotisserie and Bar

Easter deal: The Hatch is offering an Easter dinner special for takeout only on Sunday, April 12. Orders must be received by Thursday at noon.

For $45 per person, the meal includes a rotisserie prime rib with horseradish crème fraîche; baked potato with cheddar, ranch and green onion; Brussels sprouts with house-smoked bacon, whipped blue cheese and dried cranberry; and biscuits with honey butter.

Pickup is available between 4 p.m. and 8 p.m. Sunday. Order can be placed by phone or on the website.

Woodstock Pizza

Easter deal: Owner Laura Ambrose told The Tribune that the San Luis Obispo pizzeria is encouraging people to consider “a novel Easter dinner — having a family or roommate picnic, even if it’s in your own backyard or living room.”

The pizza place has a special that feeds between four and six people for $45 and includes a six-pack of premium beer, an extra-large pizza, a large salad and desert. For an additional cost, the beer can be subbed for a bottle of wine.

Thomas Hill Organics

Easter deal: Thomas Hill Organics is selling an Easter dinner that includes bourbon and brown sugar glazed ham, thyme and rosemary potatoes au gratin with toasted Parmesan breadcrumbs, seasonal vegetables roasted with smoked sea salt and a local olive oil strawberry salad with shaved fennel, romaine lettuce hearts and puffed rice granola.

The price for two servings is $32, four for $60, and six for $84. You can also add an olive oil cake that feeds four people for $24.

Pickup is between 2 p.m. and 6 p.m. Orders should be placed online by Friday at 7 p.m.

Easter deal: All three Willow Family restaurants in San Luis Obispo County are offering pick-up Easter dinners are their locations in Pismo Beach, Nipomo and Morro Bay.

For each dinner sold, the organization will donate a meal to a family who has lost their jobs due to the COVID-19 crisis, according to chief operating officer Joe White. The restaurants are also donating 23 Easter family meals to Jack’s Helping Hand Foundation.

The family meals, which feed between six and eight people, include a glazed ham dinner, seven sides — including mac and cheese, mashed potatoes and sweet potatoes — and bread pudding dessert for $99. Dinners can be paired with select wines for $29 more.

Orders can be made by calling the restaurant where you wish to pick up the meal.

Linn’s Restaurant

Easter deal: Linn’s Restaurant in Cambria is offering its usual menu for take-out, curbside and delivery, as well as several Easter specials.

The Easter specials include a lamb top sirloin roast with olallieberry heat glaze, pesto cous cous, Brussels sprouts and spring farm carrots for $24; butternut squash ravioli with local, wild chanterelle mushrooms and farmers’ market asparagus in a brown butter sage sauce for $22 and stuffed artisan sourdough French toast with mascarpone cream and olallieberry preserves, two eggs and thick cut bacon for $17.

Paso Catering Co.

Easter deal: Trish Jacobs of Paso Catering Co is offering an Easter brunch special on Saturday and Sunday that can be picked up in either Paso Robles or San Luis Obispo. The brunch, which costs $75, can feed between eight and 12 people. It features classic deviled eggs, quiche with hash brown crust, spiral cut glazed ham, Italian Easter bread and a seasonal fruit salad with mint.

Brunch should be pre-ordered by Thursday by calling or emailing trish@pasocatering.com.

Pickup is at Kelsey See Canyon Winery in San Luis Obispo and Changala Winery in Paso Robles, between 1 p.m. and 4 p.m.

Big Sky Cafe

Easter deal: Big Sky Cafe is offering a take-out Easter special, featuring a choice of herb roasted leg of lamb with balsamic reduction or fresh grilled salmon.

The package also includes fresh spring rolls as an appetizer, garlic rosemary sierra gold potatoes, crispy Brussels sprouts and ginger orange mokum carrots as sides, and a dessert choice of bananas foster bread pudding or triple chocolate blondies with salted caramel.

A two-person meal costs $40 and a four-person costs $80. Call to pre-order a meal.

Marisol at The Cliffs

Easter deal: Marisol at The Cliffs is offering individual Easter meals for $25 each.

They include a 10 ounce angus prime rib (either medium or medium rare) with a choice of goat cheese mashed potatoes or three cheese mac and cheese and a choice of caesar or mixed greens salad. A slice of carrot cake is also included.

The meals are available to order Friday through Sunday by phone.

Kanpai

Easter deal: The Shell Beach sushi spot is offering a bottle of wine from Timbre for $1 with the purchase of $50 or more.

The restaurant is offering encouraging Easter diners to pick up the family DIY handroll sushi dinner set for $59. The set includes a takeout tray with four kinds of sashimi, shrimp tempura, 20 sheets of seaweed, sushi rice, crab meat, spicy tuna, yamagobo root, avocado, cucumber, jalapenos, lemon, ginger, wasabi, eel sauce, spicy mayor and ponzu sauce. It also includes miso soup and edamame.

Easter deal: Cafe Roma is offering a pick-up three-course meal for $28 per person on Easter Sunday.

The meal includes your choice of classic caesar salad or roasted red and golden beet salad; a choice of lamb shank, braised short ribs, meat and Bechamel lasagna, Neapolitan ricotta and spinach ravioli or grilled salmon; and a choice of Italian Easter ricotta cake or a traditional Sicilian cannoli. Grilled asparagus, meat filled ravioli with Bolognese meat sauce and baguettes are available for additional cost.

Meals can be picked up between 11 a.m. and 2:30 p.m. Orders should be placed by calling the restaurant.

Cal Poly Meats

Easter deal: Cal Poly Meats is open for drive-up service, including Easter dinner essentials such as smoked hams and lamb chops and prime ribs. The store is also fully stocked on Cal Poly cheeses and eggs. Customers can drive up, place their orders using a form of available products and an employee will fill the order, return to their car with it and to collect payment by credit card. Some of the most popular items and their prices per pound include ham ($3.50), lamb chops ($12.50-$17.50), lamb shanks ($10), lamb boneless leg roasts ($15.50), French rack of lamb ($21.50), prime rib ($11.49), New York strip steak ($12.00), ribeyes ($14.00) and ground beef ($4.50).
