A world-renowned Mexican mariachi band will perform in Paso Robles this fall.
Mariachi Vargas De Tecalitlan is scheduled to take the stage Oct. 30 at Vina Robles Amphitheatre. Mexican ranchera singer Yolanda Del Rio will open the show.
Founded by Gaspar Vargas in 1897, Mariachi Vargas De Tecalitlan — which takes its name from a city in southern Jalisco state —has released more than 50 albums, appeared in 200-plus movies and collaborated with the likes of Juan Gabriel and Linda Ronstadt.
These days, the group consists of two trumpets, a harp, a vihuela, a guitar, a guitarron, a guitara and seven violins.
Tickets for the Oct. 30 concert cost $35 to $79.50, and go on sale at 10 a.m. Saturday.
