Mexican pop-rock star Gloria Trevi will perform in Paso Robles in September.
Originally a member of the girl group Boquitas Pintadas, Trevi launched her solo career in 1989 with the release of her album “¿Qué Hago Aquí?” Over the years, the singer-songwriter known as “the Mexican Madonna” has released a total of 10 studio albums, including 2015’s “El Amor,” while pursuing side careers as an actress and television personality.
Trevi’s controversy-courting career, romantic relationship with former manager Sergio Andrande and involvement in a sex scandal that led to her arrest, conviction and imprisonment on charges of rape, kidnapping and corruption of minors were chronicled in the 2014 movie “Gloria.” (She was exonerated in 2004 due to lack of evidence.) Also in 2014, she starred in the reality show “A Toda Gloria.”
Tickets to Trevi’s Sept. 18 concert cost $40 to $60 and go on sale at 10 a.m. Saturday.
