Celtic Woman to perform Irish music in SLO
Celtic Woman will celebrate Irish history next week with a concert at the Performing Arts Center in San Luis Obispo.
The all-female Irish musical ensemble will perform at 7:30 p.m. Wednesday in a new show, “Destiny,” that recalls the events that led to Ireland’s independence a century ago.
Violinist Máiréad Nesbitt and singers Mairéad Carlin, Susan McFadden and Éabha McMahon will be accompanied onstage by a group of musicians and dancers.
Celtic Woman, a multiplatinum selling group that has been named Billboard’s World Album Artist of the Year six times, is best known for its renditions of songs such as “Amazing Grace,” “You Raise Me Up,” “Walk Beside Me” and “The Whole of the Moon.” The ensemble released its 10th studio album, “Destiny,” in January.
Tickets for Celtic Woman’s concert are $50 to $90. For more information, call 805-756-4849 or visit www.pacslo.org.
