Southern rock jam band Gov’t Mule will perform this summer in Paso Robles.

The band will stop Aug. 28 at Vina Robles Amphitheatre on its Smokin’ Mule 2016 Summer Tour. Southern rock act Blackberry Smoke will open the show.

Gov’t Mule began life in 1994 as a side project for two members of The Allman Brothers Band, Grammy Award-winning guitarist Warren Haynes and bass guitarist Allen Woody. (Woody died in 2000, and has since been replaced by bassist Jorgen Carlsson.) The group is a staple on the music festival circuit.

Tickets for Gov’t Mule’s Aug. 28 concert cost $40 in advance or $45 the day of the show. They go on sale at 9 a.m. Friday.

Vina Robles Amphitheatre is at Vina Robles Vineyards & Winery, 3800 Mill Road. For information, call 227-4812 or visit www.vinaroblesamphitheatre.com.
