Seven Sisters Fest won’t return to SLO, organizers say
Seven Sisters Craft Beer and Music Fest will not return to San Luis Obispo this summer.
Instead, Morro Bay marketing firm HarvestMoon Inc. plans to bring BaseCamp, a four-day festival featuring live music, camping, outdoor activities, food and craft beverages, to El Chorro Regional Park and Campground next year.
“We’ve chosen to pursue a different concept and direction with a long-term vision and a new event,” HarvestMoon co-owner Sarah Mason wrote in an email.
HarvestMoon Inc. and Tap It Brewing Company had co-produced Seven Sisters Fest since 2013.
But the two decided to discontinue the festival after they were “unable to come to contractual terms,” according to Tap It Brewing tasting room manager Katelyn Egger, who handles marketing and events for the San Luis Obispo business.
Mason said BaseCamp will place more of an emphasis on music than its predecessor.
“(Seven Sisters Fest) was a beer fest with music,” she wrote. “The vision of BaseCamp is something music bigger.”
Mason said the event will be aimed at “bringing together locals, visitors, vendors, organizations and other like-minded partners together to celebrate SLO County’s outdoor culture, and share in the universal language that transcends barriers — music.”
BaseCamp will be held July 6 through 9, 2017, at El Chorro Regional Park.
Organizers have yet to announce an entertainment lineup.
