Backstreet Boys announced new tour dates — and they’re coming to NC this fall

Backstreet Boys are returning to North Carolina.

The iconic boy band that got its start in the 1990s with hits like “I Want it That Way” and “As Long As You Love Me” will come to Charlotte and Raleigh later this year.

They’ll come to Raleigh’s PNC Arena on Sept. 21, a little over a year after they performed there Aug. 20, 2019.

In Charlotte, they’ll perform at PNC Music Pavilion on Sept. 22 at 7:30 p.m., according to LiveNation.

The shows are part of a 45-date North American tour building on the Backstreet Boys’ DNA World Tour, Rolling Stone reported. It kicks off July 10 in New York.

“We have the best fans in the world,” band member AJ McLean said in a news release announcing the new dates. “They come out to party and they sing at the top of their lungs and we feed off that energy. We can’t wait to take this show on the road again this summer.”

Tickets go on sale to the general public at noon on Valentine’s Day, according to LiveNation. Fan Club members can purchase from Feb. 11 to Feb. 13.

One of the Backstreet Boys’ last appearances in Charlotte was in 2017 at Bojangles Coliseum for a Christmas concert, the Charlotte Observer reported. Before that, they played Verizon Wireless Amphitheater in 2013 with Jesse McCartney and DJ Pauly D, according to Concert Archives.
