Up-and-coming country star Cody Johnson is coming back to the Central Coast.
The “Cowboy Like Me” singer-songwriter will perform April 20 at the Alex Madonna Expo Center in San Luis Obispo, marking his third concert in the Central Coast city. (He sold out two previous shows at San Luis Obispo’s Fremont Theater.) Outlaw country band Mike and The Moonpies will open the show.
A former professional bull rider, Johnson traded the rodeo for music in the mid-2000s, recording a string of self-released albums. His 2016 album “Gotta Be Me,” featuring the songs “Wild as You” and “With You I Am,” debuted at No. 2 on Billboard’s Top Country Albums chart.
Tickets for Johnson’s all-ages show cost $25 to $30. They can be purchased via Ticketfly.com or in person at Boo Boo Records in San Luis Obispo.
