Kenny Wayne Shepherd, Jonny Lang to bring blues to Paso Robles
Blues rockers Kenny Wayne Shepherd and Jonny Lang will perform this summer at the California Mid-State Fair in Paso Robles.
The pair will headline the second annual Evening of Blues & Brews at the Chumash Grandstand Arena. The event, which kicked off last year, pairs craft beer with live blues music.
Best known for the songs “Blue On Black,” “In 2 Deep” and “Somehow, Somewhere, Someway,” Shepherd has enjoyed widespread commercial success since making his professional debut at age 13. He previously played the fair in 2012, and performed at the Avila Beach Blues Festival in 2007 and 2009.
In addition, Shepherd joined Lang in concert in 2009 for a Jimi Hendrix tribute concert at the Avila Beach Golf Resort.
Lang, a Grammy Award winner whose hits include “Lie to Me,” played the Avila Beach Blues Festival in 2001 and 2010.
Tickets for the July 28 concert cost $26 to $46, or $448 for an eight-person table. They go on sale at 10 a.m. April 8.
The California Mid-State Fair runs July 20 through 31 at the Paso Robles Event Center, 2198 Riverside Ave. in Paso Robles. For more information, call 1-800-909-FAIR (3247) or visit www.midstatefair.com.
