Matchbox Twenty, Goo Goo Dolls perform at Mid-State Fair
Matchbox Twenty and Goo Goo Dolls brought the '90s back to the California Mid-State Fair on Sunday night with a co-headlined concert at the Chumash Main Grandstand Arena.
Nominated for five Grammy Awards, Matchbox Twenty rose to international fame in 1996 with the release of its debut album “Yourself or Someone Like You,” featuring the hit singles “3 a.m.,” “Push” and “Real World.” Lead singer Rob Thomas has also enjoyed a successful solo career, earning three Grammy Awards for his collaboration with Carlos Santana on the song “Smooth.”
Goo Goo Dolls is best known for its 1998 song “Iris,” which held the No. 1 spot on Billboard’s Hot 100 Airplay chart for 18 consecutive weeks. The band has been nominated for four Grammy Awards.
