Popular country band to headline Mid-State Fair — with a local singer as opener
A popular country band with “skyscraping anthems” and a breakout star from San Luis Obispo are both set to take the stage at the Mid-State Fair in Paso Robles this summer.
Old Dominion will headline at the Chumash Grandstand Arena at 7 p.m. on Wednesday, July 15, with local country singer Dasha and singer-songwriter Annie Bosko performing opening acts, a news release said.
The fair called Old Dominion one of the biggest groups in country music after nabbing nine No. 1 singles on country radio and receiving more than 6 billion music streams across the globe. The band has also won Group of the Year eight times at the Academy of Country Music Awards.
“Fusing clever lyrics and an infectious sound, their lyrical wit and hook-heavy songwriting has certainly proved to be a winning formula for Nashville’s hottest band,” the release said.
Dasha, who was born and raised in San Luis Obispo, will open for the band during the fair’s 80th anniversary. The 26-year-old has “a powerful global fan base” after writing more than a thousand songs and creating “Austin (Boots Stop Workin’),” which was one of the most-streamed country tracks of 2024, according to the release.
Bosko, a country singer from the Central Valley, will also perform at the July 15 concert. She’s previously written songs for Willie Nelson and Jessica Simpson and toured with Tim McGraw and Blake Shelton.
Tickets for the Mid-State Fair concert will go on sale at 10 a.m. Friday and will be priced at $70, $80, $90, $110 and $120, the release said.
Tickets will be available online only via MidStateFair.com.
