Is Paso Robles Mid-State Fair one of best in US? Academy of Country Music thinks so
The California Mid-State Fair is getting some love from the Academy of Country Music Awards this year.
On Thursday, the Academy of Country Music Awards announced the California Mid-State Fair as a nominee for “Fair/Rodeo of the Year,” an award given to the top live entertainment events in the United States, according to a release from the fair.
“We are incredibly honored to be nominated by the ACM,” California Mid-State Fair CEO Colleen Bojorquez said in the release. “This recognition is a testament to the hard work of our team, the support of our community and the amazing fans who come out year after year to celebrate music, agriculture and tradition with us.”
This year’s fair has already announced four country acts: singers Cody Johnson, Keith Urban, Jon Pardi and Bailey Zimmerman, along with its Country Rodeo Finals.
The Paso Robles-based fair joins four others in the “Fair/Rodeo of the Year” category this year:
- Calgary Stampede – Calgary, Alabama
- Cheyenne Frontier Days – Cheyenne, Wyoming
- Minnesota State Fair – Falcon Heights, Minnesota
- Houston Livestock Show and Rodeo – Houston
Winners of the 60th Academy of Country Music Awards will be announced later this spring on May 8 at 8 p.m. EST.
The celebration will be streamed live on Prime Video and on the Amazon Music channel on Twitch.
