Hip-hop star Nelly is coming to Mid-State Fair for the first time — and he’s bringing a friend
It’s about to get “Hot in Herre,” Paso Robles.
Hip-hop superstar Nelly will perform in concert at the California Mid-State Fair this summer along with special guest T.I., fair officials announced Monday in a news release.
The two will make their fair debuts on Monday, July 24 at the Chumash Grandstand Arena at the Paso Robles Event Center as part of the Michelob Ultra Concert Series presented by Visit SLO CAL, the release said.
Nelly found fame in the early aughts with a string of hits including “Hot in Herre,” “Ride Wit Me” and “Shake Ya Tailfeather.” The multi-platinum-selling rapper has three Grammy Awards.
T.I., a three-time Grammy winner considered the king of trap music, is know for such songs as “Dead and Gone,” “Live Your Life” and “Whatever You Like.”
The two friends have collaborated multiple times.
Tickets for the July 24 show cost $30 to $110, and go on sale at 10 a.m. Friday via the California Mid-State Fair’s official website, MidStateFair.com.
Other big-name music acts coming to the Mid-State Fair this year include Tim McGraw — himself a Nelly collaborator — as well as Lauren Daigle, Parker McCollum and Los Tucanes De Tijuana. The fair’s popular Evening of Music and Wine event will feature Styx.
Perhaps the 2023 fair’s biggest draw so far has been country star Luke Bryan, who’s returning to Paso Robles for the second time.
Tickets for Bryan’s July 23 fair concert sold out in about a week and a half, fair officials said Friday.
The California Mid-State Fair runs July 19 through July 30 at the Paso Robles Event Center, 2198 Riverside Ave. in Paso Robles.
This year’s theme is “Shake, Rattle & Roll!”
