‘Avengers’ star Josh Brolin spotted at SLO County bowling alley

Josh Brolin recently stopped by a San Luis Obispo County bowling alley for some old-fashioned fun.

The “Avengers: Endgame” actor and his wife, Kathryn Boyd, spent a quiet afternoon at Pismo Bowl in Pismo Beach on Monday, Pismo Bowl employee Felicia Roybal confirmed Tuesday.

“Celebrity sighting at Pismo Bowl today!! So cool to see Josh Brolin in our little bowling alley!” the business wrote in a Facebook post, adding a starry-eyed emoji.

Although Roybal wasn’t at work Monday, she said two Pismo Bowl employees — manager Chad Sickler and his girlfriend and co-worker, Melanie Quake — were there to witness Brolin’s bowling prowess.

Sickler even snapped a picture with the movie star.

“This is a big thing for us, especially for a small town,” said Roybal, adding that she’s “insanely jealous” she didn’t get to see Brolin in person. “We don’t get celebrities around here.”

Local sightings are nothing new for Brolin, who grew up in San Luis Obispo County.

The son of actor James Brolin and stepson of singer Barbra Streisand, Josh Brolin moved to Templeton as a baby, attending Templeton Elementary and Templeton Middle School. Although he sold his family’s ranch in 2004, he bought it back six years later.

In 2017, the San Luis Obispo International Film Festival awarded Brolin its highest honor — the King Vidor Award for Career Excellence.

“I love the community here,” Brolin said during the award ceremony. “This is my home. These are my roots.”

Brolin, whose credits include “Sicario” and “No Country for Old Men,” isn’t the only celebrity to be spotted in San Luis Obispo County in 2020.

Taylor Lautner visited 1122 Cocktail Lounge and Speakeasy in Paso Robles in early January. The “Twilight” heartthrob also posted an Instagram photo of himself checking out an vineyard while dressed in Taco Bell coveralls.
