‘Captain Marvel’ star Brie Larson visits SLO County — and eats some Brown Butter cookies
Captain Marvel just took a road trip to the Central Coast.
On Wednesday afternoon, actor Brie Larson took to Instagram to share photos and videos from her visit to San Luis Obispo County, which included stops at Gopher Glen Organic Apple Farm in Avila Beach and the Piedras Blancas elephant seal rookery near San Simeon.
The “Captain Marvel” star snapped a picture of the set for “A Christmas Carol” at San Luis Obispo Repertory Theatre and enjoyed some sweet treats at Brown Butter Cookie Co., although it’s not clear which location she visited. (She can be heard saying “We want the dough. Give us the dough!” in a video of Brown Butter employees preparing cookies.)
Other highlights of her Instagram story include tranquil sunset shots of the Pacific Ocean, a photo of a rainbow above North Coast hills and a panoramic video view of a San Luis Obispo County campground set to Cat Stevens’ “Peace Train.”
Larson even shared a photo of herself relaxing in a camper van with a serene coastal scene behind her. “You must go on adventures to find where you belong,” she wrote in the caption, quoting author Sue Fitzmaurice.
Best known for playing an intergalactic superhero in “Captain Marvel” and “Avengers: Endgame,” Larson, a Sacramento native, won an Academy Award for her starring role in “Room.” Her other credits include “Short Term 12,” “The Glass Castle” and “Kong: Skull Island.”
TV host Chris Hardwick visits Cambria
Larson isn’t the only celebrity to visit the Central Coast in recent days.
On Sunday, “Talking Dead” host Chris Hardwick shared photos of his visit to the Cambria Christmas Market via Instagram — including a picture of him kissing wife Lydia Hearst, great-granddaughter of William Randolph Hearst, inside the market’s popular lighted tunnel. Celebrity friends including photographer Tyler Shields and actor Wil Wheaton tagged along for the trip.
“Our annual holiday trek to @cambriachristmasmarket was another smashing success!” Hardwick wrote in his caption, calling Cambria “an ADORABLE little town to visit.” “10/10 would light show there again.”
