Garrison Keillor will return to the Central Coast this fall.

The beloved author, humorist and public radio personality will star in “An Evening with Garrison Keillor,” Nov. 16 at the Performing Arts Center in San Luis Obispo. The performance is being presented by San Luis Obispo Classical Academy, Martin Resorts and public radio station KCBX.

The Peabody Award-winning creator of “A Prairie Home Companion,” Keillor stepped down as host of the popular Minnesota Public Radio show in early July, capping 42 years at the helm. (He continues to host another Minnesota Public Radio show, “The Writer’s Alamanac.”)

Now he’s sharing his warm wit and wry depictions of Midwestern life with audience members via a touring one-man show.

Keillor previously appeared solo in San Luis Obispo in 2001, 2002, 2007, 2009 and 2013

In addition, Keillor brought “A Prairie Home Companion” to the PAC in 2003 and to Vina Robles Amphitheatre in Paso Robles.

Tickets for “An Evening with Garrison Keillor” cost $48 to $88. Admission to an after-show VIP reception, which includes wine, dessert and a meet-and-greet with Keillor, is $250.

Proceeds benefit San Luis Obispo Classical Academy.
