Traveling Paso Robles art studio opens new, ‘super comfortable’ creative campus
The owner of a traveling art studio has opened a permanent location in Paso Robles.
On Monday, artist Karyn Blaney celebrated the grand opening of ArtSocial 805’s Creative Campus at 3340 Ramada Drive.
The space will host a variety of classes and events, including art lessons and programs specifically for children.
Offerings include a a four-week class introducing students to watercolor painting introduction as well as a Family Spooktacular Halloween event and a Halloween-themed event featuring hand-painted doormats.
Blaney says she hopes ArtSocial 805 will be a place that fosters creativity without judgment.
“I want people to feel like they have the confidence to create something and take fear out of the equation,” Blaney said. “People should come to this space and feel at home.”

Eleven years ago, Blaney moved to Paso Robles and hosted her first sold-out paint-and-sip night through Studios on the Park.
Before the Creative Campus opened, ArtSocial 805 served exclusively as a traveling art studio, bringing different events to local wineries, businesses, and private homes and parties.
According to the website, ArtSocial 805 has hosted an impressive 1,079 painting events to date.
For Blaney, opening the Creative Campus was a natural next step.
“I want to offer more than just paint-on-canvas experiences,” Blaney explained “It has taken me about a year to find a location I really liked and connected with. I felt it was perfect timing to expand ... We don’t just want to do painting. We want to do so much more.”
Blaney plans to offer events and workshops in printmaking, marbling, hand lettering and glow-in-the-dark painting with ultraviolet lights, in addition to hosting artistic retreats.
ArtSocial 805’s Creative Campus has a team of in-house art instructors and assistants, all of whom specialize in different areas.
Each artist brings their own skills and has their own strengths, Blaney said, which allows them to “balance each other out.”
If customers want to see a class offered that is not currently on the list, Blaney said she is always open to hearing requests from community members.
She described the Creative Campus space as “super comfortable and aesthetically beautiful.”
“We want people to feel like this is somewhere they can come and without judgment and create a really fun and relaxing environment,” she said.
