Jeff Bridges to receive King Vidor Award at SLO film festival
Academy award-winning actor Jeff Bridges will receive the King Vidor Award at the San Luis Obispo International Film Festival next month.
Former winner James Cromwell will present the award, followed by a conversation with Bridges and a screening of the 1998 cult classic, “The Big Lebowski” in the historic Fremont Theatre.
The event will start at 7 p.m. March 8. General admission is $15; admission for students and festival film society members is $10.
A six-time Academy Award nominee, Bridges won a 2010 Oscar for best actor in a leading role for his portrayal of an alcoholic country singer in “Crazy Heart.” He also was nominated for roles in “True Grit,” “The Contender,” “Starman,” “Thunderbolt and Lightfoot,” and “The Last Picture Show.” His performance in “Crazy Heart” also garnered a Golden Globe award as best actor in a drama.
