Taylor Swift's wedding dress designer speaks out, reveals new details

Taylor Swift wasn't the only one who said yes to the dress.

Fashion designer Jonathan Anderson, who oversaw the wedding looks of Swift and husband Travis Kelce for their nuptials at Madison Square Garden, opened up about working with the pop superstar in a new interview with Women's Wear Daily published Monday, July 6.

Anderson, the creative director of Dior's women's, men's and haute couture collections, worked closely with the A-list couple on their wedding attire. Swift's gown marked Anderson's first couture wedding dress created for a globally recognized celebrity.

"It was a joy to work with her. We became very good friends," Anderson, 41, told the outlet's Paris bureau chief Joelle Diderich. "It's an emotional thing doing someone's wedding."

Aside from its design label, not much is known about Swift's bridal look, as photos from the singer's wedding have yet to be released. It was previously confirmed that Swift would be wearing the custom Dior Haute Couture gown with Christian Louboutin shoes and jewelry by Cartier.

Prior to Swift and Kelce's wedding, Anderson showed his flair for bridal wear in June with a pair of haute couture wedding dresses he designed for Chinese model Ming Xi and Brazilian influencer Elisa Zarzur. Xi's dress was an elegant long-sleeved, off-the-shoulder gown with an elongated veil, while Zarzur wore a floral-inspired number with an open back and lacy bodice.

Swift and Kelce, both 36, tied the knot at the iconic New York City venue on Friday, July 3, in a star-studded ceremony that featured A-list guests such as Ed Sheeran, Gigi Hadid and Bradley Cooper, Tom Cruise, Adam Sandler and Zoë Kravitz.

Swift's wedding dress wasn't the only fashion statement made at the high-profile ceremony.

Dancer Tori Evans, who performed on Swift's record-setting Eras Tour, stirred controversy on social media over the weekend after sharing her attire for the pop star's wedding in an outfit reveal video.

Evans, standing next to husband TJ Shaw, starts off the clip in a white robe and greets viewers in the style of a "get ready with me" walk-through. The dancer then feigns stumbling to the ground, which makes way for an abrupt transition that later shows Evans modeling her wedding ensemble: a light-colored strapless dress and matching scarf.

Evans' dress quickly sparked debate in the comments section, with many fans comparing it to a bridal look. USA TODAY has reached out to Evans for comment.

"You really wore a color close to white to TAYLOR SWIFT'S wedding," @maddiespamstoslay wrote on TikTok.

Shaw later took to the comments section on Instagram to clarify the true shade of Evans' frock.

"Dress is pink champagne color for everyone that doesn't understand lighting," he wrote alongside a laughing emoji.
