'Below Deck Med' Fans Have the Ultimate Ick After Luke and Gen Leave Nathan With an Awful Surprise
Below Deck Mediterranean crossed into serious ick territory during Monday's episode when Luke Brumer and Genevieve Lillie used Nathan Gallagher's bed for a late-night hookup-then left behind a discovery that viewers found downright disgusting.
The drama unfolded after Luke and Gen first spent the night together in his bunk. With Nathan off the yacht visiting his family and son, Gen later climbed into Nathan's bed to sleep. The next morning, Luke quietly joined her there to continue their rendezvous-only to leave behind an unwelcome surprise.
Rather than immediately changing the sheets, the pair scrambled to keep their hookup under wraps. Luke was later shown hovering around the laundry room, waiting for a chance to wash Nathan's bedding before anyone noticed. The attempted cover-up only made the situation more cringe-worthy, with many viewers saying the entire ordeal gave them the "ick."
The Above Deck podcast hosts echoed what many viewers were thinking when they commented on Below Deck's Instagram post, "That was a heck of an episode!" Judging by the flood of reactions, plenty of fans agreed.
Another person wrote, "Episode has arrived and so has the carnage" with several people expressing how grossed out they were with the drama. Several people were horrified by what transpired with one person suggesting that production should have stepped in. "I honestly think production should have stepped in and said something. That is just nasty and disgusting. Gutter behaviour. And what if Gael and baby had come the next day and the baby was laid on the bed. Absolutely abhorrent."
Luke posted a few photos shortly after the episode aired, writing, "We walked down the stairs reenacting the 'shame' scene from Game of Thrones. Shame is a heavy thing to carry. Don't carry it for too long, learn from it and level up. Peace my little G wagons!"
Gen also posted, leaning into the cringe of it all. "Episode 5, I have no words… except I love these guests and here's my garden party set up," she wrote on Instagram.
As if the episode wasn't messy enough, it ended with a major miscommunication. Gen thought Luke had moved on from Chef Joy Lefaucheur, while Luke believed he'd made it obvious he wasn't interested in her. At the same time, Nathan had already spent the day resting in his bed, blissfully unaware of what had happened there-or what was still waiting to be discovered.
Below Deck Mediterranean is on Monday at 8 p.m. ET/PT on Bravo.
