Watch: 'House of the Dragon' cast tease 'bigger and badder' Season 3

June 12 (UPI) -- HBO Max is teasing House of the Dragon Season 3.

The streaming service shared a featurette, titled "Gearing Up for War," for the season Friday featuring Matt Smith, Emma D'Arcy, Steve Toussaint, Ewan Mitchell, series co-creator and showrunner Ryan Condal and other cast members and crew.

House of the Dragon is a fantasy drama inspired by the George R.R. Martin book Fire & Blood. The show takes place about 200 years before the events of Game of Thrones, the HBO drama based on Martin's Song of Ice and Fire book series.

Season 3 will continue the story of the Dance of the Dragons, a war of succession that tore apart House Targaryen.

The new episodes have an "extraordinary" scope, according to Smith, who plays Daemon Targaryen, having taken over 300 days and 1,500 cast and crew to film.

Mitchell, who portrays Aemond Targaryen, promised the season is "bigger and badder in every way possible."

One "epic" storyline featured in Season 3 is the Battle of the Gullet, which set a world record for the most stunt performers set on fire at once.

House of the Dragon Season 3 premieres June 21 at 9 p.m. ET on HBO and HBO Max.
